When Desire Wounds: Understanding and Releasing the Trapped Emotion of Lust

By Sheila Marina | Planet of Peace Energy Healing

There’s a sacred space within us that longs for connection, intimacy, and emotional resonance. But when that longing becomes distorted—when desire is misdirected, overwhelming, or misused—it can leave behind a powerful energetic residue known as the trapped emotion of Lust.

In The Emotion Code, Dr. Bradley Nelson teaches that emotions can become “trapped” in the body when they are not fully processed. These trapped emotions may originate from our own experiences, or—just as powerfully—from the actions and energies of others that we were forced to endure. Lust is one such emotion that can take root deeply, affecting our relationships, boundaries, and self-worth.

When Lust Is Yours

If you’ve ever felt ruled by intense desire, or found yourself chasing emotional or physical gratification only to feel empty afterward, you may be carrying the trapped emotion of Lust. When left unprocessed, this energy can drive compulsive behaviors, create feelings of disconnection, and interfere with your ability to experience genuine intimacy.

At its core, Lust in this form often signals an unmet emotional need—a yearning for love, recognition, or safety that was never fulfilled. It can lead to self-judgment, shame, and patterns that sabotage healthy connections. If this resonates with you, know that there is no shame in acknowledging it. The act of witnessing this energy with compassion is the beginning of its release.

When Lust Was Imposed Upon You

For others, Lust becomes trapped not because of their own desire, but because they were the unwilling recipient of someone else’s lust. Whether through emotional manipulation, unwanted advances, or even more traumatic violations, these experiences leave behind energetic imprints that can feel invasive, heavy, and deeply painful.

You may find it difficult to trust others—or yourself. You may carry shame that isn’t yours to carry. And you may wonder why certain memories or body sensations resurface even when you try to forget. These are signs that an energetic wound still exists, silently asking for your attention and healing.

The trapped emotion of Lust, in this case, is not a reflection of who you are—but of what was done to you. And it, too, can be lovingly released.

Healing Lust with The Emotion Code

Releasing the emotion of Lust—whether your own or one inherited from another’s behavior—brings incredible relief. With The Emotion Code, we use muscle testing to locate and release the energy, allowing the body and heart to return to a state of peace.

After release, clients often report feeling lighter, clearer, and more grounded in their boundaries. Their relationships improve. They no longer feel controlled by urges or haunted by past experiences. Most importantly, they reclaim a sense of sovereignty over their emotional and energetic space.

You Are Not Alone

Whether you carry Lust as an unresolved need or as the scar of someone else’s actions, your pain is valid. And so is your healing. You do not need to carry this energy forever.

As an Emotion Code Practitioner, I’ve helped people around the world release this very emotion—gently, safely, and with lasting results. Together, we honor the past, release what no longer serves, and make room for peace, clarity, and authentic connection.

You are whole. You are free. You are worthy of love that honors your soul.

If you’re ready to release the emotion of Lust or any other energetic weight, I invite you to book a session with me at planetofpeace.setmore.com. Wherever you are in the world, healing is possible.
